The door skins on my mark 2 (62/568) are in very poor condition. New
skins would be preferred, but although my metal forming skills are
adequate for remaking all the steel work in the car, the stretching and
shrinking of aluminum sheet to form the double curvature at the top of
the door is not something I think I could achieve. Has anyone had any
experience of producing a new door skin, either in aluminum or glass
fibre?
