YXP 860 is the BMC Turner owned by racing driver Darren Turner who appeared with the car at the Goodwood Members Meeting and Goodwood Revival in 2014.
Prior to Darren's ownership the car raced in the UK in the early 60s before heading to the USA during the 1980s racing VSCCA in the USA before heading to Switzerland and back to the UK with Darren where it was restored by CCK Historic in the original colours ready for its participation at Goodwood.






YXP 860 was one of 2 BMC A Series cars supplied in 1959 by Turner Sports Cars to Yimken Engineering to be Raced in the Under 1,000cc Class of the BRSCC - Autosport Championship Series for Production Sports Cars. YXP 860 was driven by Christopher McLaren while the sister car YXH 830 was driven by Simon Scrimgeour who are seen here working on the cars.

The top photo shows YXP 860 on 02/04/1960 at the BRSCC Oulton Park Spring Meeting with Christopher McLaren behind the wheel.

For 1961 YXP 860 passed from Christopher McLaren to his friend Tony Covill who and used it for both road and circuit racing with the BRSCC and BARC at various club meetings and on 1st September 1962 the car appeared at Goodwood for the 53rd Members Meeting where YXP 860 participated in 2 events competitively , The Scratch Race for Sportscars Up to 1200cc and a Handicap race.
