Turner Sports Cars   Chassis Number Unknown CGH 88B

This Turner registration CGH 88B was not known to the register until August 2008 when Derek Bentley met the owner while showing his Turner at the Festival of Transport at Hellingly, East Sussex. The car belongs to Terry Smith who bought the Turner in 1967, when he was 22 years old and kept it until 1974 when he sold it to a friend. The Said friend then emigrated and Terry re-inherited the car. Terry did a number of sprints and hill climbs in the car and at one time had a Lotus twin cam engine fitted.It has since sat in Terry's garden where it has become overgrown by bushes over the years. There is no identification plate on the car, However, it has a log book and From this the reg. no is CGH 88B and It was first registered 13th October 1964 as a Turner-Ford Mk II to Richard Simon Miles Clay, c/o Richard Clay & Co., Devereaux Chambers, Devereaux Court, London WC2. The 2nd owner was 07-04-65 Direct-Sales, 20, Church Road., Hove, Sussex then 09-03-66 R C F Charnley, Thyme House, Challoners Close, Rottingdean, Sussex. The registrar Is currently seeking to establish the original chassis number of the car. Terry Smith has since extracted the car and is undertaking a restoration which is making great progress.
